It is hard to believe that it has already been two months since our clinic to San Miguel, El Salvador. We have unpacked the bags, finalized the clinic budget numbers, and started working on plans for next year. It is quite a process from start to finish but such a rewarding experience. We helped a lot of people!

We are thankful for our partnership with the University of Missouri-St. Louis College of Optometry and to Dr. Linda Marks, clinical professor, for recruiting a number of optometry students over the past several years to participate in I Care clinics. This year, we were joined by student doctors Mariah Strahm and Kevin Pizarro.

We received a touching testimonial following the clinic from Mariah that we wanted to share with you.

Thank you, Mariah, and to all, for your support.

Testimonial from Mariah Strahm

“This trip deeply impacted me. It is impossible to feel anything other than immense joy and gratitude reflecting on the people we served and the people I served alongside. The country was beautiful and the people were incredibly kind. I will always be thankful for the opportunity to use my optometric skills for something bigger than myself.”

Best,

Mariah
