A fundraiser will be held for I Care International on Saturday, September 28th at the beautiful Avila Bay Athletic Club and Spa, in Avila Beach, California. A thank you goes out to Leigh Livick, Holly Naylor and Sue Gibler for coordinating this event. Thank you also goes out to the Avila Bay Athletic Club and Spa for use of their facility, Castoro Fine Wine for providing wine, and to Joy Bonner for her musical talents. Event details are below. We are raising funds to support our March 2025 trip to San Lucas Tolimán, Guatemala. I Care volunteers will be providing 2 two-day optometry clinics to smaller remote villages in the Lake Atitlan area. Your donations will purchase medical supplies, hire Mayan dialect translators, and defray the cost of added transportation needed to reach unserved children and adults in need of eye exams and glasses. In addition, we will provide travel stipends for two fourth year optometry students, to gain experience at the clinics and augment the work of our volunteer optometrists. As always, your support is critical to our success.
